STACEY SCHUHAM KRAMER, Founder

Stacey Kramer is the founder of BrandPlay, formerly Word for Word. In the early days, Word for Word focused exclusively on creating great names. Though naming remains our first love, we also enjoy working with clients to craft a compelling brand strategy to help define and communicate what the brand is and why it matters.

Stacey launched her career at Chiat/Day SF, working as account interface to clients including G. Heileman Breweries (Rainier Beer), Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, World of Wonder Toys and Atari. She joined Lexicon Branding in Sausalito, CA in 1991 where she advanced her name generation skills, working as part of a team producing iconic brand names. From 1993-1994 she managed advertising development for Montgomery Ward with Saffer Cravit in Chicago.

Stacey's cumulative experience in working for clients ranging from pharmaceuticals to apparel to consumer packaged goods paved the way for the eventual founding of Word for Word in 1994, which became BrandPlay in 2004. With over 25 years of experience in advertising, branding and name development in a hundred different industries, Stacey brings an experienced perspective to any brand.

Stacey has a BS degree in Economics and a BA degree in Communications from Stanford University. She occasionally lectures for marketing classes at CU Boulder and CU Denver. In 2010, Stacey gave a short 3-minute talk at TED, unrelated to branding....
